Ethiopian police arrested two former ruling party officials, including a former minister, on suspicion of corruption and wastage of public funds while they headed an endowment fund, the Amhara Mass Media Agency reported.
The detention of Bereket Simon and Tadesse Kasse follows their dismissals in August from the leadership of a regional wing of Ethiopia’s four-winged ruling coalition in connection with suspected irregularities at the Amhara regional TIRET endowment fund, AMMA said at the time.
