(Bloomberg) --
Ethiopia will deploy federal police to major roads linking its Oromia and Somali regions after fatal clashes arising from a boundary dispute, Fana Broadcasting Corp. reported, citing Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn.
Hailemariam said regional security forces will withdraw from the disputed areas in the east of the Horn of Africa country after he held discussions at the weekend with local elders and religious leaders, according to the state-affiliated broadcaster. The government will hold accountable individuals” it says are responsible for recent deaths and displacements, Fana said, without giving a death toll.
