Sudan’s first prime minister in a quarter century vowed to form a government that represents the African nation’s varied political forces, the state-run news agency reported.
Bakri Hassan Saleh, also vice president to head of state Umar al-Bashir, took the oath of office Thursday in the capital, Khartoum, the SUNA agency said on its website. The position of premier, which hadn’t existed since a 1989 coup, was reinstated last year after a constitutional amendment.
