Eritrea Slams U.S. Sanctions Listing for Navy as Unwarranted

Eritrea’s government criticized sanctions imposed by the U.S. on its navy, describing the move as an “inexplicable and unwarranted act.”
The Horn of Africa country’s navy, along with any successors, sub-units or subsidiaries, was among entities sanctioned by U.S. State Department’s Bureau of International Security and Non-Proliferation late last month. A State Department spokesperson told reporters in a March 30 teleconference that they “really can’t get into the specifics of why entities were sanctioned.”
