Boxing Day sales: Shoppers break records

After a temporary morning lull brought on by the Tube strike, Oxford Street bustled with activity as shoppers scrambled over each other in a hunt for Boxing Day bargains.
Clothing retailer Next, which opened the doors to its West End flagship at 7am, was one of the busiest, with yellow jacketed security guards managing the queue that stretched around the shop.
